Welcome to my newest cookie experiment! 
      Once again, an idea has come into my mind that I simply had to give a try.   It happens when I have ingredients in my house that I feel like I need to use.  Then, I think about who in my family would like whatever I come up with and if I can make it to fit their dietary needs or restrictions.  

       In my pantry, I had a couple of different kinds of almond butter.  One of my grandsons is allergic to peanuts and other nuts, but not almonds which is apparently not really a nut.  One of the types of almond butter I had was a caramel almond butter that sounded pretty delicious!  I also have lots of jam and I thought to myself, "Self, you know I think that apple butter would taste really good with that caramel almond butter!"  I agreed with myself and I then began to think that a thumbprint cookie made from the almond butter and the apple butter would be great together.  The idea took off from there.

I'm so excited to share these coloring pages with you. I have been working on them since December or January and learning about the 9 women (it was hard to narrow down!) we chose was so inspiring and interesting. And I have to say at times their stories made me so sad too (especially Sacagawea's!).

The women we chose for this pack were:

• Sacagawea- A Lemhi-Shoshone woman  responsible for the success of the Lewis and Clark expedition.
• Harriet Tubman- An enslaved person who was able to escape the evils of slavery and help others escape too.
• Susan B. Anthony- An activist who fought her whole life for women's suffrage.
• Marie Curie- The only Nobel Laureate who had 2 Nobel prizes in different scientific fields.
• Rosa Parks- The mother of the Civil Rights movement in the United States.
• Amelia Earhart- The first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic.
• Diana, Princess of Wales- The princess who changed the dynamic of the Royal Family with more hands on charity work.
• Simone Biles- A brilliant gymnast who is the third most decorated gymnast world-wide.
• Malala Yousafzai- An advocate for education for all women and children around the world.

It was so hard narrowing down our list of women who have inspired us throughout history to be better versions of ourselves. But I think our little pack is a great start!

I'm so excited to use these to teach my kids about these incredible women. Not just in March, but throughout the whole year. I know my kids are excited too because when I printed off my test copies they wanted to color them right away. And I just got them Crayola Colors of the World pencils and markers that include 24 different shades for coloring skin. This makes even me excite to color the pages too!
