Since purchasing a Bread Machine, I have quickly become a convert of using the dough only setting. This allows me to mix up the bread dough from any recipe I can convert to fit into my machine, and then to shape the loaves or rolls however I would like. I've done buns, rolls, pizza dough and all sorts of things. For our recent St. Patrick's Day Dinner, I made delicious dinner rolls and since it was in honor of the Irish, I had to do potato rolls! When making potato bread or rolls, feel free to use fresh, potato flakes, frozen or canned potatoes. You simply need to be able to made them into a mashed version. This time, I used some canned potatoes that I had canned last year or so ago. I boiled them to heat them and the water up. Then, I removed the potatoes and mashed them. I ended up with more than necessary, but just put the extra in a container in the fridge to use later. These potatoes contain zero refined sugar. To help the yeast to proof and rise, I used real maple syrup. I wondered if I would taste the syrup in the finished product, but I did not. When adding the ingredients to the bread machine, be sure to put them in the pan in the exact order that is specified. When using a bread machine, you generally always put the liquid ingredients in first. Otherwise, your ingredients won't mix together well and you will end up with a hard, floury mess. So, follow that part of the recipe carefully. I baked my rolls in a 10 x 16 inch Baking Pan. It will hold 2 dozen rolls. After dinner for 6.5 people, there were 6 left, so as you can see, they were a hit! I hope that you will love them, too! Other Bread Posts You Will Love:

I'll have to try this recipe out! We have a bread machine that I haven't used in a while. You inspired me to take that out. Thank you for sharing with us at The Crazy Little Lovebirds link party.
