Okay, first I have to tell you that I forgot to take some really good pics of these cupcakes before taking them to the baby shower that we threw for my extra daughter Charly. These were the practice ones. Do you see the liners in the back that are blue with polka dots? Those are the ones I used. Charly and her husband are not finding out the gender of their baby until she gives birth, so we wanted a very neutral theme for her shower. Charly loved the Rubber Duck idea, so I looked on Pinterest of course and found this idea from Sweets & Treats. I hadn't heard of their company before this, but I fell in love with theirs large variety of sprinkle mixes and their cupcake liners keep such bright color after baking in them! I definitely recommend checking them out. They have some great items on their sale page as well! You know I love sprinkles and I can definitely use some new ones when Hot Cocoa Bomb Season begins! To decorate the cupcakes, I simply used a large circle piping tip to dot on frosting to look like bubbles. I enhanced the bubble look with large and small round candy sprinkles. Finally, I popped these rubber duckies on top! They were the perfect size for the top of the cupcakes. These rubber ducky cupcakes were definitely a hit and a centerpiece at the party. I love when treats are easy to make and pack a big punch!

The mission of this group was originally to help the needy, but over the years it has expanded to not only help those in need, but to also teach the gospel of Jesus Christ, to help women be educated throughout the world and as one song puts it, "to cheer and to bless in humanities name."

Did you realize that February 12th is known as Lost Penny Day? Neither did I, but when I heard about it, it brought some things to mind.
Pennies have been around since 1787, and while they don't have much value now, a bunch of them together can add up!
There is a trend out there to do away with cash and change. That makes me kind of sad. What will become of the joy of piggy banks? Pulling coins out of my purse and handing them to my grandkids for their banks is always so much fun for them and for me. What will the Tooth Fairy put under pillows in exchange for lost teeth? How will gumballs come out of a gumball machine? I have many memories associated with pennies and other coins.
So, I'm glad that there is a penny day. And to celebrate it, I have a game that I learned long ago from my friend Elizabeth. It is based on the book, The Hundred Penny Box by Sharon Bell Mathis. It is the story of a little boy whose great-great aunt is 100 years old. She has a box that contains a penny from each year of her life. Although her memory fades in her old age, the memories in the box mean a lot to her and to her young nephew.
Here is how the game goes:
The Penny Game would be great to play for many occasions! Here are my ideas:

I don't even remember where I learned the silly game, "Don't Eat Pete", but I have played it as a down time game with kids when I taught school and they always loved it. About 4 years ago, I taught it to my grandchildren. We all played it as a family and had so much fun laughing and especially watching the little ones get a big kick out of it. Here is how you play:
With that in mind, you will now understand why when I was in the store looking at the Easter Candy and I saw Peeps, that this variation of the game came to my mind. Why not an Easter version of Don't Eat Pete? And thus, Don't Eat Peep was born! I made this 9 square board. When I printed mine, I discovered that I was running out of colored ink, so yours will have yellow on it and look even cuter. I numbered the bunnies from 1 to 9 so that when you play, you just pick the number that you want to be Pete. Then, look! I found these bunny shaped marshmallows at Walmart! I can hardly wait for my grandkids to get here so that we can play together! Click on the button so that you can get your own game board. I copied mine on card stock, but plain white paper works just fine. Just click the button and print yours right away! You only need one copy and everyone can play! Singing Time Version I have written posts before about things I do with the young children at church as I teach them singing. We do a lot of activities to make it fun. "Don't Eat Pete" is a game that I have converted to use with my kids for Singing Time.
Birthday/Kid's Parties! If you have extra kids or grandkids coming for Easter, "Don't Eat Peep" is great for any size crowd. If you want to play "Don't Eat Pete", at other times of the year, for birthdays or other parties for kids, I found these game boards available on Etsy! The site is called Paper Tagged. Just click the link or picture to order! In this game, everyone gets to eat treats and you could keep track of who got to eat the most and the least to give out ultimate prizes if you would like. I have played it with large classrooms and church groups of up to 40 kids! It is the perfect game for any sized crowd of kids. And that's how it works! I hope you can use these ideas and enjoy the free printable board for some Easter fun!
