Have you been to many soup buffet parties? Perhaps you are hosting one yourself this year. I've been to quite a few soup buffets with delicious soups all staying warm in a crock pot, only to have the satisfaction level fall flat because all that is served with the soup are some crackers on the side. But, I'm here to tell you that a soup buffet is an opportunity to go crazy and shine! I've got you covered with lots of tips of what to serve with your soup to make your buffet go over the top!
Soups and What to Serve With Them
Choose just 2 or 3 favorite soups. More than that will make everyone unsure of what to choose and you will end up with way too many leftovers! If you round out the meal with lots of toppings, a few choices of soup will be plenty. Here are some suggestions of what to serve with various soups:
Or, you can cut the grilled cheese into points and balance on the mug. It aids in the dipping of the sandwich!
Those are some of my favorites, but here are some other ideas for toppings that you might try for any kind of soup:
How to Serve the Soup
Of course, crock pots are a great idea to serve from, since they will keep the soup nice and hot. But, in some cases they may not look fancy enough and a lovely soup tureen may be in order.
Here are some other ones, click the photo to see them or order them:
There you have it! Tons of ways to bring your soup buffet to the next level! It is raining in Phoenix, so soup sounds like a really great idea. Especially the Tomato with grilled cheese! What kind of soup does a rainy day bring to your mind? For more soup recipe, check out our soup category! Enjoy!

I am here to try and cheer us all up with this delicious Chicken Soup Recipe!
Don't you love chicken soup? Chicken soup is like going home. That's why they have all of those Chicken Soup for the Soul books. Because it is good for you! Well, here in Phoenix we had winter last week. It was really ridiculously cold! Also, my little girl was sick, just in time for Christmas and her first birthday. It was a total bummer. So, I went into super mom mode and made some homemade chicken soup to try and heal her (she ended up having an ear infection, so antibiotics also played a role in the process.) Wherever you are in the country right now, you might be experiencing winter. You might be experiencing sickness. You might be experiencing post holiday ennuyeux. No matter what your personal state of being is right now, this soup will help. It is tasty, and easy to make! Make this Chicken Soup, curl up by a fire, and read your favorite copy of Chicken Soup for the Soul. Feel better, because I will soon be sharing with you how to make a gluten free smash cake for a baby's first birthday, and we're going to need to be over our post holiday funk for that!

During my recent trip to visit my family in California, I attended a luncheon with my sister where we were served a variety of soups. I started with the delicious clam chowder, which is a favorite of mine. Then I tried the Pumpkin Sausage soup and I fell in love with it! Since my son does the Keto Diet, I knew that he would like it too.
I came home to Phoenix and found this recipe on I Breath, I'm Hungry. I made a couple of changes for our taste and I will post the recipe I used below. One of my favorite things is that the turnips made a really good replacement for potatoes and another favorite thing is the creaminess that the mascarpone cheese adds to the soup. This recipe makes quite a lot of soup. My husband and I had eaten it for two days, then my came over and finished it off with us. He kept going back for more! It is that good! This soup would be easy to make and put in the crockpot for later and is a warm and satisfying meal during this hustle and bustle time of year. This post contains affiliate links. In December and January, when everyone else is buried in snow, living in Phoenix is just amazing. But, I struggle with September and October because when you want to be enjoying Fall weather and Fall food, it just doesn't happen. Well, the weather doesn't, but I tend to make the food happen anyway because, I mean, you are just in the mood for it by then. One of the things I love to eat in the Fall and in the Winter is a delicious soup. We have featured some really good ones here on the blog, plus I have found some delicious ones on other web pages and I thought I would kick start YOUR Fall menu with some of our favorites!
There you have it! Some of our Fall soup faves! And it isn't even Friday! Come back tomorrow for Friday Faves. But, in the meantime, check out some of these soups for your Fall menu. I hope you are starting to get the nice crisp weather where you are. Think of me still sweltering in Phoenix and send some of it our way, will you? If you have a favorite soup that you love to eat in the Fall, give us a heads up! If you blog and it is on your site, link us to it in the comments! We'd love to visit! |
