Chocolate Lave Cake
To me, Chocolate Lava Cake is the quintessential dessert for Valentines Day!  What could be better than the ooey, gooey, fudgy chocolate oozing out off a warm cake?  Topping the cake with strawberries is the piéce de resistance and this dessert just looks like you are saying "I love you" with food.   Another great thing about Chocolate Lava Cake is that is seems like something that takes a lot of effort, when in reality, it is so easy to make and to achieve a delicious result.
This recipe for Chocolate Lava Cake makes 4 individual cakes.  So, it would be perfect for a dinner with friends, or a small family of 4, or best of all to save for you and your Valentine to have a second helping later!  If you warm it up, only do so in the microwave for 30 seconds or you will lose the lava in the middle.  (It will still taste great, though!)  Or, you can put it bake in a conventional oven for about 5 minutes.

A Few Tips:
  • Just a couple of slices of Strawberry are all that you need.  Or, if you prefer, a handful of Raspberries.
  • Sprinkle on the confectioners sugar like you mean it.  The semi-sweet chips and the berries need that little extra sweetness, I believe.  But you do it according to your taste.
  • You could substitute whipped cream (the real stuff) for the powdered sugar, or do both!
  • Mint chocolate chips or peanut butter chocolate chips might be fun flavor differences to try!
  • Be sure to grease and sugar the ramekins, this step helps the cake slip out easily.

I will include some links for ramekins below.  They come in handy for many things.  There are a lot of choices of colors and styles.  As a woman who loves dishes, I want them all!
If you don't like chocolate, (What!), you may want to try this Lemon Pudding Cake instead!

Oh, this looks delicious! Pinning to save and share. And I agree with you on the ramekins--they really do come in handy for so many things. Visiting from the Busy Monday linkup.
