Thank you for your support. During the holidays, eggnog is one of our favorite drinks, whether it is from the grocery store or homemade. (Always alcohol free here!) A series of events led me to think about making Snickerdoodles with a touch of eggnog flavor! These would be the perfect accompaniment with that glass of eggnog you are enjoying! Click read more to find out how I made them! Snickerdoodles are a pretty easy and delicious cookie to make during the holidays when time is at a premium. I love them best when they are warm out of the oven. So, this recipe follows suit and is quick and easy to make with a really good result. What do you need to get that eggnog flavor? Eggs, vanilla and nutmeg in the right combination! So, to my basic Snickerdoodle recipe I added butter for an addition of dairy flavor, they already contained eggs, and two things that weren't included in the recipe before: vanilla and nutmeg! The sugar coating isn't your normal cinnamon sugar that you use on regular Snickerdoodles. I used vanilla sugar with nutmeg blended in. I purchased a bottle of vanilla sugar at Aldi. I was expecting white sugar with black flecks, but it was mostly very dark! None of the vanilla sugars I see on Amazon look as dark, but this kind from Aldi is very tasty. I'm not seeing it on the Aldi site now but I'm sure that one of these from Amazon would work. Using about 3-4 Tablespoons of it, I whisked in a little nutmeg for the perfect topping to these cookies. The dough is kind of soft, so the cookie scoop and the vanilla sugar mixture make them easier to handle. You bake these cookies at 375 degrees F. for about 11 minutes. They come out flattened with cracks and chewy on the inside. Here they are just out of the oven: You know you want one! Without further ado, here is the recipe! I hope you enjoy them! Here are a couple of other Snickerdoodle recipes! These would go well during the holidays as well!
