As I've told you, Maddy is currently living away, in a new place where she is having fun getting to know new people. One of the things she does to get to know people is to have gatherings at her apartment. She recently was hosting a girls night and she told me that they were doing a Shrinky Dink Craft to make the currently popular charms for their bags. She asked me what food I thought she should serve. I told her that she should serve tiny foods to go with the Shrinky Dink theme. I was kind of kidding, but Maddy took the idea to heart and went for it! The night turned out so cute that we decided to share her ideas and also come up with even more that you could incorporate into your own Mini Girls Night! The Food When Maddy asked me for ideas for the food, my first thoughts went to thinks like a salad with mini corn cobs, croutons, cherry tomatoes, pepita seeds and other tiny ingredients. Lindsey suggested Cucumber Sandwiches, which Maddy had also thought of, as well as Cake Pops because they are like mini cake! Here is what she ended up serving:
Can you think of any good ideas? Here are a few more that I thought of:
What to Wear? This category isn't really necessary, but it could be kind of fun! Ask everyone to wear something mini, like a skirt, or a hat, or a print or Minnie Mouse! You get the picture! A Craft A craft is always fun to get everyone relaxed and doing something fun, and to be able to send home a party favor! This is where the Shrinky Dinks come in! They are a fun craft, no matter what your age! Some of Maddy's friends had never done them and they had so much fun watching the magic happen! Here are some tips from Maddy about how to do them at your own party:
Here are some pictures of her party setup: This party idea would be fun with any age group and for family or friends. Even kids would have fun with it this summer! Please share any more mini ideas that you have in the comments below!
