Thank you for your support Family Thanksgiving Gatherings can often include lots of kids and cousins of all ages. It's a great idea to have some activities that will keep them busy before and after the big meal! Not everyone loves football, (surprisingly), especially not younger kids. Unfortunately, the younger set are probably not interested in the same old, same old glue feathers on a turkey activity or a turkey word search. I mean, I know that I get tired of those, too. So, I rounded up some activities and games that I thought everyone might get a kick out of. These would be great to enjoy during the days leading up to Thanksgiving in classrooms or with grandchildren as well! So, click read more for some really fun ideas! A Girl with a Glue Gun has some really fun Thanksgiving ideas. Here are 2 that I loved from her site:
Have you seen those cool little fit on the page corner bookmarks that you can sew? Well The Printables Fairy actually has a Turkey shaped one that you print on paper. You just print it off and fold it up. It is adorable! She also has a similar bookmark depicting the Mayflower, Pilgrims and Native Americans! Sacha at The Craft At Home Family shares an I Spy Page with a math twist! Easy to print and it has an answer sheet as well! With this printable from Day Dream into Reality, the kids can cook up an imaginary dinner while the turkey is still cooking! I love that you can make it look almost 3-D, plus there are options to print it ready to color or already colored! I didn't want to forget to share this cute turkey I came up with a few years ago using a Tootsie Pop, a Hershey's Kiss some googly eyes and some fall colored leaves. The kids can make a bunch to share with friends and cousins before Thanksgiving arrives! Most kids now-a-days know how to use their parents cameras better than their parents do, or they have a phone of their own. So, why not put it to good use by doing a Selfie Scavenger Hunt during the day on Thanksgiving? This kit from Amazon could be an easy way to go. There are enough sheets for 12 people to participate. Or, you could take the time to come up with your own ideas and create your own Selfie Scavenger Hunt! Kids to work in pairs to establish some camaraderie if their aren't enough phones. And actually, it doesn't need to be just "selfies." It could just be photos of things, such as someone catching a pass in the family Turkey Bowl, or someone snitching a deviled egg before dinner! Later, Everyone could cast their photos up onto a TV and have some good giggles! I pretty much love this idea, so I couldn't resist making a printable, not just selfies, version of my own to get you started! Just click on it for the pdf! I hope one or two of these ideas will add to your families memories this year as you celebrate together!
