The hair Product I've Been Waiting For All of My LIfe!

       My entire life, my hair has been disappointing to me!  LOL!  Mostly because it is straight, without a sign of a curl and very fine.  I've gone through perms, curlers, curling irons, waxes, gels, mousse, but never ended up totally satisfied with the result.  I mean, my hair would look great after getting it styled, but I could never really replicate it when I was styling it myself.   Now, as I am getting older, my hair is even thinner and straighter.  (We won't even mention the gray!)  For the past couple of weeks, I've been needing to go in for a haircut.  I was beginning to look like a scarecrow.  My regular hair stylist friend who does my hair has been so busy with school, she couldn't fit me in right away.  (She is very much in demand.) Then my grandson came for a visit, and really wanted to get a haircut as well, so, we had a G-ma/G-son hair outing early one morning.  And, it was because of my 12 year old grandson that I discovered the most amazing hair product that has rocked my hair styling world!

     Early on a Friday morning, I found a salon that could fit us in, I woke up my grandson and said, "Let's go get our haircut!"  He hopped out of bed and off we went, bedhead and all!  
      It was nerve wracking for me because I love my regular stylist, but I just really wanted to get my hair done!  I had a picture of what I wanted and so did my grandson.  At first, when each of the stylists started working on us, we both felt nervous, but in the end we were happy with the outcome, even though mine was a bit shorter than I thought it would be.  My grandson got his fade and he looks super cool.  
       As we were checking out, the stylist who had done my hair recommended a hair product for my hair since I had expressed my concern about my fine, straight hair.  I usually take these recommendations with a grain of salt since I figure they are just trying to push products on me.  But, my grandson said, "Yes grandma, you should get it!  It works really well, you will like it!"  The stylist assured me that it would make my hair seem like I had teased it and would give me the body I wanted in my hair style.  So, with that urging, I purchased it!  

        Oh MY Goodness! 

       I can't believe how great this stuff is and how easy it is to use and it gives me exactly the look I want with very little effort!  
       The product is a volumizing and texturing powder, and I am in love with it!

     There are various brands at different price points available on Amazon.  I may this other brand a try as it has good reviews and is a lower price, but I am really happy with this brand, so we will see! 

     See my hair in that top picture in the blog banner?  That is a photo of my hair after I did it myself, after washing it.  No curling iron involved!  This texturing/volumizing powder was so simple to use.  

• I simply blew my hair dry.  I kind of fluffed it as I went and used a round brush.
• I sprinkled the powder on my hair wherever I felt like I needed some oomph, (mostly on top).
• Using my fingers, I simply began fluffing and shaping my hair the way I wanted it to look.  I could feel the powder changing into a sort of moist slightly sticky substance.  Not gross, and it didn't show, but it allowed me to move my hair and kind of keep it in place.  
• After my hair looked the way I wanted it, (it took me about a minute to do), I gave it a spray with hairspray and I was all done!  
• The extra bonus?  ​My hair stayed in place with volume all day long!  I couldn't believe it! 

     A few other benefits? 

1. Lots of compliments on my hair! 
2. I took a nap, then fluffed my hair and it was still perfect! 
3. I didn't look in the mirror after an hour and see that my hair had gone flat.    

   The only drawback that I've noticed is that it does give your hair a little different feel that makes me want to wash it out at the end of the day.  I haven't tried to see if I can just activate it the next day with a bit of a mist of water or not.  I'll have to give that a try.  But for me, the benefit of having good looking hair all day is totally worth it!  People who have flat, fine and getting finer hair like mine will understand!
