Thank you for your support. We just entered 2025, right? Except we are in the halfway month and Father's Day is this coming weekend! Not only that, I will have grandchildren arriving here on Friday Night who will be wanting me to help them create gifts for their dad! This set of grandchildren are in the older group of my large, wonderful crowd of grandchildren, so it is going to be a challenge and yet a lot of fun to come up with ideas that they will enjoy making and not feel are too young to come from them, and that their dad will enjoy and treasure. Today I am going to share some ideas that I think will be great coming from kids who are 14, 12 and 10! My 14 year old granddaughter is very creative and she loves to craft and to cook and basically create. You've met her on the blog many times before! Here are a couple of her past efforts on the blog: (You can click on those images and go to those posts if you would like!) As a matter of fact, one great idea for my son, her dad, would be a batch of those perfect homemade donuts! She could pair them with one of these cards that would hilariously fit the gift. You can print them yourself if you order them from our Etsy Shop! Download them this week only for 50% off! Staying with the baking theme, I think Jayda would get a kick out of these S'mores Cupcakes that I found on our grocery store site! Another food idea might be this Sweet and Savory Snack Mix found on SarahHearts. She could put it in a jar decorated for her dad, everything handmade by her. I fell in love with this Scrabble Letter Father Daughter Picture Frame from Creative Cynchronicity. I love how the letters fit together like they would on a Scrabble board. I happen to have a bunch of Scrabble letters for crafting. You can order them on Amazon if needed! Of course you could adapt this for Fathers-Sons as well, sharing the "s" and going down the right side! 12 year old Connor is a bit more camera shy, although he has been on the blog a few times! (I won't embarrass him by showing you some of his adorable younger pictures.) Connor is funny and athletic, he loves video games, YouTube, Baseball, Basketball and Race Cars! I've found a couple of things that he might find acceptable to give to his Dad as a Father's Day gift. Dad has taught all of his kids to be good fishermen (and women). So, I think that this personalized lure would be awesome! As a matter of fact, I'm thinking of making some myself! On 2 Little Hooligans, where I found this idea, she made hers with beer caps. At our house, we love going to the store that carries crazy sodas, and we've save the caps from those, so these lures would have a double meaning! (I wrote about our crazy sodas here.) Angie Holden from The Country Chic Cottage shared a wooden pencil holder that I thought might work well for Dad's desk at work, and my grandson might like a chance to use a drill and do some wood working. Since Connor likes sports and race cars, he could change out the image and the caption for something more personal. My 10 year old Grandson loves geology and we call him our Rock Hound. So, of course whatever he makes for his dad is going to follow that area of interest. Luckily, there are a ton of appropriate rock craft ideas out there to use! Hunter also loves to craft, so both of his interests go well together. Rock Paperweights for Dad's Desk is the first thing that comes to mind. There are a lot of ideas out there, but I think it is best to let the kid follow their own heart and creativity and just let them create! Just give them some basic supplies, like craft paint, Sharpies, Washi Tape and Mod Podge and let them have at it! Sustain My Craft Habit Shared a great idea for a picture frame craft that would be perfect coming from Hunter. Because I love doing things with essential oils, and because my grandchildren love body sprays and smelling good, I'm adding one last cool idea! Desert Naturals posted a great article about DIY Men's Colognes! The article has some good information as well as some recipes. Of course, customizing your own scents for the person you will be giving them to is more than half of the fun! (I had a lot of fun coming up with these Christmas Air Freshener Scents!) Let me know if any of these ideas strike a chord with you and if you have any great ideas that I've missed, I would love to hear them!
