Thank you for your support. Last Spring, which feels like a million years ago, Tupperware was running a special on this adorable Party Set for Kids! At the time it was only $19.99! I fell in love with it. Look at the adorable tiny pitcher and that mini version of the classic cake taker! I purchased 3 sets to give to my 3 youngest granddaughters. I gave my granddaughter Emily a set first. She loved it and I actually decorated a mini cake so that we could have a little party with her parents and my husband. It was so cute and fun! I got to thinking that it would be a lot of work to make a real cake every time the girls wanted to play with these sets. Wouldn't it be great if I made a play cake that they could use when a real little cake wasn't available?
Well, I kept thinking and thinking about that idea as Emily played with her little set, and then I gave the second set to Amelia and I still thought it would be a good idea. Now, the time has come for me to give the final set to Sofia, and I have finally taken my idea and turned it into reality!

The pockets of jeans are one of the most diverse parts of your jean's style. They can be totally blinged out or just plain or anywhere in between. There are so many ideas out there to repurpose the pockets from your old pair of jeans. I chose to do this cute pocket purse for 3 reasons:

Today's project is a simple and useful project! It is surprising how quickly hot pads and pot holders can get stained and gross looking. After awhile, you need some new ones. Repurposing an old pair of jeans is perfect because the heavier fabric adds more protection from hot pans.
When I started working on it, I realized that if I were working with 2 pairs of old jeans in different washes, it would be even more interesting. To create more texture with my one light washed pair, I changed the direction of the grain of the squares and strips as I put them together.
I've created a gallery of instructions for you to follow! Simple click on the photos and you will see how I crafted this denim hot pad!

There is nothing more comfy than a pair of jeans and a tee shirt to hang out in and this Tee Shirt and Jeans pillow couldn't be easier to make and also comfy to rest your head on! Remember the Heat 'n Bond craze of the 90's? Well, it has made a return when making this pillow! I love the look of the seam of the jeans going down the center of the pillow. This pillow is a great way to preserve a memory brought on by a special tee just a little longer. In this case, the tee is from my son's freshman football team. He was the Offensive Line Captain that year and it was a great experience for him. I think he will love keeping that memory alive a little longer with this pillow sitting on his bed. You can make a pillow to preserve a special shirt of your own. Do you have a great concert memory but the shirt has seen better days? How about a vacation that you would love to revisit? At some point you just have to part with those raggedy shirts, but you can pair them with your raggedy jeans in this project and make them special again! I think my son will love it! Send me photos of your tee shirt and jean creations! I would love to see them! So far I've shown you 3 projects made out of 1 pair of jeans! There are more to go! Have you tried any yet? Maybe you have some ideas that I haven't thought of. I'm so excited to show you some completely different things next week. See you then! Links to the first 2 jeans projects: |
