My youngest son and his sweet fiancé were married! Everything was beautiful, and as often happens, I came home from the reception with lots of leftovers and perishable things that I didn't want to go to waste! One of those things was about a gallon of buttermilk! Why buttermilk at a wedding you may ask? Well, the couple chose to have a waffle bar at their reception and my dear friend Tracy used her fantastic recipe to make them for the event. It is always difficult to determine how much food or ingredients you will need for such an event and my thinking is that it is always better to have too much rather than too little when it comes to food. So, there was leftover buttermilk! Well, another big event happened just 3 days after the wedding! Alicia gave birth, 6 weeks early, to my newest grandson, Sebastian! We are so blessed! Because I am flying off in a few days to be with Alicia and this new miracle, I need to quickly use up this leftover buttermilk and deal with other perishable items before I go! I hate waste! So, I've been looking for recipes and trying some out! If you are ever in this situation and need to use up some buttermilk quickly, maybe these links will come in handy for you as well!
Do you have a favorite way to use buttermilk? I would love to hear what it is. I think the yeast bread came out so well that it may become my go to method for making a white bread. Let us know what you think if you give it a try! Simply click on any of the images below to order products you may need to make these recipes!
