I made it to Provo, UT all by myself, so my trepidation was unnecessary. I am having so much fun taking care of my little grandson Adrian while his mommy is in school. While I am here, I have decided that I need a creative outlet while baby Adrian naps. So, Adrian and I took a field trip to Michael's today and hit the jackpot! There were tons of fun things marked down 70%! I had to curb my enthusiasm! I decided that Alicia needed something patriotic for July 4th, Independence Day. I know this is last minute, but if anyone is like me and a little behind all of the time, you can whip this out in a few minutes. In spite of all of the awful leadership and terrible decisions that have been plaguing our country at presesnt, I still want to celebrate the USA and those who were so inspired to set it up with the freedoms we have and that we need to continue to fight to protect. So, here are some of the things I picked up and what I did with them. The beauty of the little tin is that it can hang or sit on a table, which ever you prefer. The flowers were normally $2.99, but they were 70% off, so that was huge! I think that the blue denim ribbon and the shiny stars give just the right touch between rustic and glitz. Here is what I did: Try not to mind my pictures, I had to use my phone camera as I left my good camera at home in Phoenix. This show the half round styrofoam that I pushed down inside the container to poke the flowers into. First I put in the flags along the back of the intended arrangement. Then I put in the 3 red and white gerber daisies. Finally I added the blue daisies. Each time, I cut the stem to the length that I wanted, and then wrapped them in floral tape for a unified look. The last finishing touches included making a bow from the denim ribbon and adding the shiney star ornaments! Here is how it turned out: Happy Fourth Everyone! "God Bless America, Land that I love!"
