With Valentine's Day coming, can we talk about a different kind of love? Sometimes you have something that you are loving so much that you just have to share what it is with everyone. The funny thing is that right now the 4 of us each have a thing like that, so we thought we would share our current favorite four things with you right now.

Our family was so blessed this Christmas to have all of us together for a little over a week. Lindsey and her family and my son Tyler and his family hosted everyone. It was chaotic, but wonderful.
One of the things we love to do as a family when we get together is play games! Every year, there are new games given as gifts and then we have a ton of fun trying them all out. Here is a list of our favorites this year:
*Azul: This was a gift from Alicia and her husband, who are really good at choosing good games, to my husband and I. Azul is a beautiful game with pieces based on Portuguese tiles. It requires strategy to win and seems a little complicated at first, but once you catch on, you will love it!
*Blokus: Blokus is another addictive strategy game that even the youngest players can catch on to. My 4 year old granddaughter did great at it. (Of course, she is unusually intelligent, if I do say so myself!) Young ones may need a little guidance towards the end of the round when the board becomes more crowded. Unlike Azul, this game seems at first to be quite simple, but you soon find out that you must be strategic about placing those blocks on the board!
*Blockbuster: At first glance, this game looks kind of lame with its plastic VHS case and old Blockbuster Video Store logo. But, we hade more fun with this game as we tested how many movies we could name in certain genres or categories, such as "Movies With Snakes." There are opportunities to give clues to your team using just one word, a catch phrase from the movie or to act it out. Blockbuster is a great party game for a large group of all ages. This game was a gift to Alicia's family from some friends and I am going to miss it until I see them again! Maybe I will have to get my own!
*Chameleon: Another great group game! It is no wonder that this is an award winning game because it is really a lot of fun! In this game, one person is the chameleon who has to pretend to know the secret word in order not to be found out by the rest of the players. If he can really guess the secret word in the end, he can save himself. The trick to being successful in this game is to give good clues that are just vague enough to keep the Chameleon from figuring out the word but not so vague that you sound suspicious. And, if you are the Chameleon, you have to be able to fake out your opponents by blending in.
If you have a party coming up or any kind of gathering where games are in order, these games are for you!

It's June and that means Father's Day is coming up! We're excited to celebrate with the men in our life. That's why we decided to create these fun Father's Day cards that you can give out. They're all donut themed so they'd be perfect to deliver with a donut on Sunday morning. Donut Pun CardsWhen I first started making the cards I was at a loss of what to do but then I saw a picture of a donut and the puns just started coming to me and I decided to make 6 cards in a pack to sell on Etsy. I like the pack of cards because it's enough to give one to all the father's in my life. Plus I can buy a dozen donuts and give each guy 2 donuts! Just press the button below to go to our listing on Etsy to get them for yourself! The cards are postcard style and print 2 to a page. There are crop marks and bleed so cutting them out will be easy. I recommend printing on white card stock. I printed mine at home but you could also take them to a print shop and have them professionally printed and cut. I'm so excited to share these with y'all and hope you enjoy the puns as much as I do! I love dad jokes and I think you'll like them too on these cards.

You may know already, but March is Women's History Month, so we couldn't let it pass without celebrating! We're doing this by putting a new item in our shop on Etsy! Women's History Coloring PagesI'm so excited to share these coloring pages with you. I have been working on them since December or January and learning about the 9 women (it was hard to narrow down!) we chose was so inspiring and interesting. And I have to say at times their stories made me so sad too (especially Sacagawea's!). The women we chose for this pack were:
It was so hard narrowing down our list of women who have inspired us throughout history to be better versions of ourselves. But I think our little pack is a great start! Each coloring page includes an image of the woman, their name, a quote from them (except Sacagawea) and a short biography about them. The poster is easily printed at home as it's formatted to be printed at 8.5"x11". They're digital downloads so as soon as you purchase the poster pack they're available to you! Click the button below to take you to our Etsy page so you can buy your own set! I'm so excited to use these to teach my kids about these incredible women. Not just in March, but throughout the whole year. I know my kids are excited too because when I printed off my test copies they wanted to color them right away. And I just got them Crayola Colors of the World pencils and markers that include 24 different shades for coloring skin. This makes even me excite to color the pages too!
I hope you can enjoy these posters with your family and friends too! Who are some more women in history that you love learning about (and would like a poster of)? |
