To celebrate Helen and Madalynn's trip to Disneyland this week, we are talking about our favorite Disney Rides, from both parks in California.
A favorite ride of both Lindsey and my mom is The Pirates of the Caribbean. A classic that still excites despite being slow moving. The beginning in the dark is especially fun. Then to see the ships and town, it's marvelous! Unfortunately, the ride is closed during their trip this week.
Madalynn's favorite ride is the Tower of Terror, which has been updated to The Guardians of the Galaxy ride. This free-fall ride will get your heart pumping and wake you up if you're feeling the effects of a long fun day at Disney. Maddy says that now there's even more drops and it even seems that you lift out of your seat more! I suggest that even if you haven't tried this ride, to give it a go. I don't usually like those free falls but this one is not as bad because you're inside. Although Maddy prefers the Twilight Zone theme of the previous ride, I have heard that the new ride is really cool and more interactive the whole time you're in line.
My mom (Helen) has said this trip one of her favorite rides has been Grizzly Bear Rapids! This is the water ride in California Adventure. In addition to the big splashes and exciting rapids, she says she always meets cool people on the ride and has a lot of fun! This is also my brother Tyler's favorite ride. I've heard it's basically the only ride he goes on when he goes to Disney!
My favorite ride is hard to choose! So, I'll give you one for each park! In California Adventure, I really love Soarin' Over California! This is a sensory experience like no other. Not only are you lifted up in your "hang glider" but scents and wind are blown at you as you"fly." Last time I went on the ride it wasn't just over California, but cool sights around the world. It's really an amazing ride! In Disneyland, I have to go with Splash Mountain. Log rides are my favorite, what can I say? I love that you get wet and the thrill of the drops! It's exhilarating!
Other honorable mentions include The Indiana Jones Ride, The Matterhorn, and Space Mountain.
Because you don't want to be juggling your water bottle, sunscreen and snacks, I suggest a good backpack. If you're not bringing kids, a classic Jansport will be great. It's light weight, durable, and has plenty of room. With kids, bring a stroller with plenty of basket room and you might even be able to fit a cooler in the basket.
So what are your favorite Disney rides? What parks have you been to? Any tips you'd like to share? Let us know in the comments below!
