I am pretty embarrassed to show you that picture above! That is my sewing cupboard in my kitchen. (I am still in the process of getting a craft and sewing room.) It has been getting pretty messy for a while, but duringthe wedding, when things got hectic, this cupboard got really bad because I would just throw things in there to get them out of the way and to make space on my counters. I decided it was time to get organized! I have some crafty ideas in mind for future posts and I knew that there were things in there that I will be able to use and avoid purchasing supplies twice.
Dollar Tree is one of my first go to places when I need to get containers for a reasonable price. This is an affiliate post, but the opinions are mine. Here are the containers I found!
I love the color and they come in all different sizes! The price point is perfect- $1. per basket!
I went through my cupboard, and the one on the wall above it! It is always surprising to find things that I have been missing in the least expected places when I do a little cleaning and organizing. I had to fill one basket with unfinished projects that I had forgotten about! I filled another with cuts of fabric that I had forgotten about! At the front of my messy cupboard you will see my old sewing machine that I have had since I was 19 years old. It doesn't work any more, but I can't part with it. I put it too the back of the cupboard. I found a bag of fiber fill! I didn't even know I had any! There was ribbon galore! Anyway, here is how the cupboard looks now.
Not perfect, but so much better! Now I just need to get to all of the other cubby holes where I have craft stuff stored!
By the way, while I was at Dollar Tree, I picked up a few other things. I really felt like I hit the jack pot this time! They have their Halloween stuff up and I got there before it has all been picked over. I had to restrain myself from buying all of the cute things I saw. (Although, I may have to go back for a few sparkly light-up Jack-O-Lanterns.) Here is what I did get:
Remember the colorful duct tape that I showed you in this post? I got some! I am going to work on a project with them today!
On the book aisle, I found this coloring book for adults! $1 ! These are so pricey in regular stores! And this one had a couple of owls in it that I love. Also, this novel by best selling author Julia Stuart. I really like the cover art, and it is set in Victorian times and involves colonization in India issues, as far as I can tell. I have only read the first couple of pages thus far, so I will let you know how it is as I get farther into it.
They had these cute little figurines for Halloween to paint, complete with paints and brushes. I thought that they might be fun to complete and decorate with. If my grandchildren were here, I know that they would love them.
Last, but not least, this baker's twine! They have a selection of colors and I have so many ideas to use this for! You will just have to wait and see, but I am so excited! Tell me about the good hauls you have made at the Dollar Tree!
There are lots of things in the works, we are still waiting to announce our give-away. I am working on the curtain tie-backs. Cocoa Bomb season is in full swing, and my oven is on! There is so much more to post about! So, stay tuned! Love ya!
