As a grandmother of 9, going on 10 grandchildren (hurray!), I like to do little things for my grandchildren that help add a little magic to their lives and to just show my love in little ways.  Last year, I was a little more elaborate and I made the girls owl purses and the boys some patchwork snakes.  This year, because my house is so full of people for a couple of months, I am planning on something a little less elaborate, but still sweet and fun that I know my grandchildren will enjoy.
This plan of mine called for a trip to Dollar Tree to get some ideas.  It was a lot of fun.  Look what I found! (Most are linked for your convenience!)
A tote to hold all of my valentine making supplies.
I think I actually got these at Target. How could I pass them up? They are sold out it looks like, but you could check Oriental Trading or Walmart. Also, you could substitute these owl pencil sharpeners from Dollar Tree.
These cute rubber bath frogs. I am calling them toads! They come 3 to a package.
These blow-out toys are in the party supply section.
Bubble gum to go with one idea that I have! There is also a lot of different kinds of candy treats, of course.
There are so many cute little sayings that could go with these little favors.  I chose 3.

Here are the pdfs for them so that you can print them off.  Just click a button. Then be sure to choose 3.5 x 5 paper.  I just printed them on 3.5 x 5 cards.  Do not click fit to page.
"Toadally" Awesome
Owl Valentine
Blow Me Away
There are a lot of cute ways to package these cute Valentines.  You could use these cute pink bags from Dollar Tree and tie them with ribbon.

I filled the bag with the blow-out toy, a balloon, some bubble gum and of course a few candy treats. (Get the blow reference?)

Or, you could just use a zip lock baggie to hold everything. I used heart stickers to attach the card to the inside of the bag. I just remembered that I need to sign the card! If you would like, you could always just use one of the toys to get the message across. I just like the variety.

The owl is just so cute. They come in multiples of 9 in the pack I purchased. You could put in more than one as they also come in multiple colors.

My 4 year old grandson saw these frogs in my bag when I came home from the store, and he got so excited! I guess he had better get one in his gift.
Because 3 of my grandchildren are in school and will come home with lots of Valentines, I think it is nice to do these little Valentines for the little ones still at home so that they don't feel left out! It is a fun way to teach them to do kind things for others. I think the Blow Me Away Valentine would be great for a classroom party.  (Perhaps leave out the gum!)

I guess that you are really a good grandmother. I wish that I have the same grandmother as well. My grandmother had passed away years ago and I still cannot let go of that situation. I was really close with my grandmother so it was painful to me when she died. She always scolds me because I am so clumsy, but I appreciate her with that and sometimes, I miss her scolding me. They said that we should cherish every moment because later would be just a history and suddenly it makes me agree with that.

Such cute ideas! I was just shopping on Sunday for Valentine's Day for my kids (who are in the late 20's) and my husband thought I was silly to give Valentine's Day. I just said..."It's important to let you loved ones know how much you care about them everyday of the year, but especially on Valentine's Day". I'm happy to have a new grand baby to splurge on for Valentine's too!

My grandchildren love the Dollar Store and I think that I need to start frequenting it more often! This is such a great idea. The kids would be thrilled without breaking the bank. I pinned and tweeted!

This year valentines is really special to me. My parents celebrated their 50 years together and I was able to witness it. God really works mysteriously when it comes to love. They one of those lucky couple who have reached that years. It is so hard to make the relationship last and by together. I hope that they will be an inspiration to the youth and most especially to those who romanticized fake loves. Valentines is really a special day and I hope that everyone enjoys that day.
