Happy Star Wars Day!
May 4th has long been known as Star Wars Day, a day to celebrate everything Star Wars. Some even call the week of May 4th Star Wars Week, allowing the festivities to last much longer. Now, Star Wars is popular in our family, but every year May 4th just seems to sneak up on me. Maybe it's because I can't believe it's May already when I feel like it's still January, but I've never actually celebrated it despite loving Star Wars so much. This year I am prepared, though, and I wanted to share some ways you can celebrate Star Wars Day, or Star Wars Week, even if you're as unprepared as I usually am. 1. Have a Star Wars Watch Party
Can you really celebrate your love for the world and story of Star Wars without watching it? Or at least have it playing in the background during other festivities. If you have Disney+, the whole filmography is available, as well as some extras and shows like Clone Wars and The Mandalorian.
If you don't have Disney+ and you don't already own any of the shows or movies, you can rent (or buy) them from Amazon withAmazon Prime Video. With Prime Video, you can also form watch parties so you can watch the original trilogy and chat with friends and family who can't be there with you in person. 2. Listen to The Books
Many people are surprised when they find out that there are book adding to the lore of Star Wars. But, they are there and you canlisten to them on Audible!
The books help give further insight into certain moments and characters in the stories you already know and love, as well as bring you new characters and stories to fall in love with. If you don't have time to dedicate to Star Wars today, I highly encourage you to just listen to a book as you work, cook, or clean. 3. Get in Character
Maybe it's because my birthday is so close to Halloween, but I love any excuse to dress up. Why not wear a costume today! Especially if you have kids, it can be fun to dress up and get in character.
If you don't have any full costumes ready to wear, give Dsineybounding a hand. Disneybounding is taking regular clothes you already own and styling them to be reminiscent of certain characters. There is a Disneybounding Challenge for Star Wars week. Try it out and see what you can come up with! Have all of your friends or family do it and see if you can guess who everyone is! 4. Grab a Bite from Batuu
Of course, you (probably) aren't in Batuu today. That shouldn't stop you from grabbing a Ronto Wrap!
Disney has also released a cookbook with some favorite recipes from Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. I've eaten there a few times and the food is actually very delicious! Try the copycat recipe above or purchase the book for the full, authentic experience. Either way, you're in for a treat.
Watching a movie and eating some good food straight from Batuu is probably how I'm going to spend my day. How are you going to celebrate Star Wars Day today? Let us know in the comments and May the Fourth be With You!

We used to celebrate Star Wars day every year when my boys were younger since they were such big Star Wars fans. I'd plan a whole day of fun around light saber battles, fun foods I found on Pinterest, and the myriad of children's books around.
