A couple of years ago, I purchased some tweezers from Kikkerland which quickly became my favorite! I thought that I was going to give them away as a stocking stuffer to a guitar player I happen to know (my son), but I forgot about them. When I found them, I decided to keep them for myself and I was so happy with these little things! They gripped really well with finely honed, slanted ends and after using them, I couldn't use any other tweezers. Then, about 2 weeks ago, I lost them. I don't know how or where I put them, but I miss them terribly and I've had to put up with less wonderful tweezers since then. My husband has been surprised how much I have bemoaned the loss of these tweezers. They are out of stock on Kikkerland, but they do have some other designs that I am going to send for. This experience brought to mind the fact that sometimes the needs of women are very different from the needs of men! My husband probably only would think about using tweezers if he were to get a splinter in his finger, whereas I use them almost daily! Out of curiosity, I asked my girls what things they would consider to be essential to them, and what they would feel lost without. Here is a list of what we came up with: ME: I already mentioned tweezers. I'm going to try a Kikkerland product again. And, just in case they aren't the same, there are these that I found on Amazon that look like they may be good. My other choice would also be nail clippers! I am always needing to fix something on my nails, so small ones for my fingernails and small ones for my toes are a must! It is so funny how a good set of these can make life so much better! This set on Amazon looks promising. Maddy: Maddy said that for anyone who is washing their hands a lot, you need a good hand lotion. That probably includes all of us! Maddy suggests Eucerin as her go to brand. Since she works in the food industry, she has a lot of experience with hands being constantly in water. And, personally, I love a product from Doterra called Citrus Bliss Hand Lotion, which works and smells great! Of course, men need hand lotion as well as women, and I think that they may prefer the Eucerin over the lovely citrus scent of the Citrus Bliss, but who knows? Not only is hand lotion a must, but so is sunscreen! Maddy says that she loves Supergoop Play, and she actually gave me some this past Christmas as a stocking stuffer. I've been loving it. It goes on so smoothly without a weird smell. It is SPF 50 and water and sweat resistant. I highly recommend it, too! I also use a Doterra product as well. I feel like the Supergoop is a better all around moisturizer/sunscreen, but I really like the Doterra Sunscreen Stick for rubbing on noses and ears especially! Men need sunscreen, too! My husband prefers the kind that sprays on, like this one from Doterra. Lindsey: Lindsey says that she can't do without Chapstick and she prefers the Chapstick brand! She always has some with her. She has tried other brands such as Burt's Bees and Blistex, which she says are fine, but she likes Chapstick the best. Do you agree? What is your favorite lip balm? Here are a few flavors of Chapstick available on Amazon. My husband will put on Chapstick occasionally, but he doesn't carry it with him. He asks me for it if needed! Another reason it is essential to have some in my purse! Alicia: Alicia's favorite essential right now is her water bottle! Once again, not just for women, but maybe the reason Alicia thought of it is because she just had a baby and is breast feeding. It is very important for her to stay very hydrated! (As it is for all of us, but you feel so thirsty when breast feeding!) Alicia says that she loves her water bottle because it has a flip up spout that is spill proof so she can even drink from it while lying down! It keeps the water cold for a reasonable amount of time, maybe not like a Stanley or Yeti, but it is less expensive and she hasn't found those to be as spill proof. It is the Contigo Courtland Chill. What essentials would you add to this list? We would love to hear from you, especially as we go into summer! It is so nice to have the essentials we need right at hand.
