We are having 90 degree weather already in Phoenix, so playing with my new Kitchen Aid Ice Cream attachment has been wonderful! (But, I stood on the scale this morning and I am going to need to limit myself to how much I am making and eating!) Last week I posted about making honey sweetened oatmeal cookies. They were a big hit around here! That recipe go me to thinking that I should look for ice cream recipes made with honey. Of course I found some! I really like honey, but honey does have a strong flavor that can be overpowering at times. I was worried that this ice cream would be too sweet with too strong of a honey flavor. My fears were all for naught because the honey flavor is light and delicate in this creamy, smooth ice cream! A Couple of Tips for Making Honey Sweetened Ice Cream!
I adapted the recipe I used for use in my Kitchen Aid machine from In The Kitchen With Kath. If you don't have a Kitchen Aid attachment yet, you can use whatever ice cream maker you have. But really, the Kitchen Aid attachment is awesome. Unfortunately the sale is over, but watch for it! I'm sure it will go on sale again! Or splurge now, because you will want it for the summer! Here is the recipe: Go to this post for recipes to make Cookies and Cream Ice Cream and Strawberry Ice Cream!
