So. It’s the day before Christmas Eve and you still don’t have all your gift shopping done, huh? Trust me, I get it. 2020 has been crazy and things have only gotten crazier as the holidays approached. Now it’s the last minute and we’re all scrambling to get our ducks in a row. Maybe in years past it wouldn’t be too late to order something online, but this year? Forget about it.
I’ve come to accept that most gifts won’t arrive at their destinations by Christmas day and honestly, I’m okay with that! Just means Christmas will last a little longer. But if you’re looking for a gift to hand someone you love the day of, it’s just not gonna work. Don’t stress, though! There are actually tons of last minute gift ideas you can grab today! Heck, you could probably grab a few of these Christmas Day if you really want to cut it close. And when I say “gifts”, I mean things people will actually want, use, and enjoy. Check out my last minute gift ideas below. E-Gift Cards
Some people hate giving gift cards, but honestly I’ve always loved receiving them. They let me know I was thought of but give me the freedom to choose something I KNOW I want or need. And with the ride of e-gift cards, you don’t even need to head out to the store to grab one. You can print it out at home and gift it in an envelope with a bow or send it in a festive email. My suggestions for e-gift cards?
Find Experiences on Groupon

Groupon is a great place to find a last minute gift that still feels BIG. At checkout, select the box indicating your purchase is a gift and you can have the vouchers emailed directly to the recipient at the date of your choosing and with a personalized message. It’s especially nice in current times because you can pay for it now and have the experience later. What awesome experiences can you find?
Buy From Etsy and Print at Home
Yes, you can still support small businesses AND give a killer last minute gift. There are many shops on Etsy that sell printable items. Meaning you buy the design from the shop and have it printed at home instead of waiting for it to be shipped. Print from your own printer at home or you can have it sent to a store like Staples and they can have it printed for same day pickup. Here are a few print at home ideas!
Subscriptions
The gift that will last long past the holidays, you can give the gift of a subscription to a service or magazine. Some ideas include:
FOOD!

Thank you for your support. On the 12th day of Christmas my true love gave to me 12 Drummers Drumming... so I made breadstick drumsticks! Garlic Sesame Grissini in fact. Actually Maddy made them for me because my original plan didn't work out. Sometimes recipe testing is just like that, nothing turns out the way you want, but it helps to have a great team around you who can help you out and come up with something even better in the end. Well I'm so glad she took over because her breadsticks came out much more beautiful and tasty than mine. And we're sharing the recipe with you now! Garlic Sesame GrissiniGrissini is a long, crunchy breadstick that originated in Italy. They're great for appetizers, snacks, or eating with soups. They're also beautiful and would be a great addition to a charcuterie board or a table spread. Because Maddy made these that means they're actually vegan friendly (just substitute agave for the honey), which means all your friends and family can happily munch away on these tasty treats. Make sure to make extra because these are sure to go fast! You want to get these nice and long (at least 16 inches) so having even portions of dough is helpful. I love to use my bench scraper to help me cut and shape dough easily. Plus it has a little ruler on it which is helpful for measuring out portions of dough! And when it comes time to clean up, the scraper easily scrapes up any dough stuck to my counter (just be careful not to scratch your countertop if you don't have stone countertops). This concludes our 12 Days of Christmas Recipes series, but don't worry we have more fun posts planned for this week. If you're wondering what we made for the other 11 days I'll link them below.

On the eleventh day of Christmas, my true love gave to me Eleven Pipers Piping!
Piping churros that is. In my opinion, churros are an excellent holiday treat. They’re quick to make, sweet and flavorful, and super easy to make extra festive! These churro bites make the perfect shareable dessert and paired with the peppermint chocolate sauce for dipping, they get taken to the next level! As a bonus, they are totally vegan! Check out the recipe below and as always, read to the bottom for my pro tips that will make this recipe even easier and better suited for the holidays. My Pro Tips

On the tenth day of Christmas my true love gave to me, ten lords a leaping, as popcorn in the air popper!
These cinnamon bear popcorn balls are easy to make, and very addictive! I wanted to add the cinnamon bears to these popcorn balls to add a little kick to them. I am sure that leaping lords have some good high kicks! I didn't want the popcorn balls to be unbearable though. The cinnamon bears give these popcorn balls the perfect amount of kick while you eat them!
I bought this Dash air popper a few years ago. Isn't it the cutest thing? I don't really eat popcorn often, but I do love having an air popper. I have fond memories of family movie nights as a kid. My mom would pull out the air popper and we'd make a big bowl of popcorn to eat while we watched.
When I was trying to come up with this recipe I remembered I had these in the fridge:
These funfetti chips add a little pops of color to your popcorn balls. It's like having a birthday party with each popcorn ball!
There is not a lot of Karo Syrup in this recipe because I don't really like when you break a tooth trying to eat a popcorn ball. What is even the point? These popcorn balls hold together, but you can still easily bite into them and enjoy all the flavors. Especially that cinnamon bear kick! These cinnamon bear popcorn balls are simple to make and they'd be a hit at a holiday party! |
